I'm feelin' all domestic!

I am feeling all domestic today. I steamed Harlan a zucchini and apple and mushed it up into baby food, which she loved! Her and I made an apple pie and I canned my own pickles! I know these are all very minor things, but I made myself proud especially feeding my baby fresh food with out any additives!

July 4th weekend

What a fun-filled weekend we had! Friday we drove down to Concord, CA and played around at Pixieland Amusement Park. Boy was it HOT! After a short stay there riding the airplanes, carousel, choo-choo, old cars, and tea-cups we had to bolt; it was just too hot. Then we drove on down to Walnut Creek and ate an early dinner at Cheesecake Factory (yum)! We walked around and shopped a bit and then headed home. On Sunday we went to church and after the kiddos got a nap in we had our friends the Schutz's over for another HOT afternoon of swimming outback and grilling some pretty amazing steaks. Monday Jeff had to work, but he met the kids and I at the 4th of July parade in Fairfield. It was a great time and Oliver loved every bit of it. Thankfully it was still cool and we had a shady spot! After the kiddos napped again and Jeff went back to work we loaded up and headed to Dixon, CA for some more fun in the sun at the Peet's pool and then walked a very long walk with the large group of us together to see the Dixon fireworks. Jeff was tossing the football around and somehow his right ring finger got all sorts of jacked up. It's all bend down and nasty looking, but doesn't hurt, which is amazing. After 1-1/2 hours at the doctor this morning and x-rays they still aren't sure what's wrong and he can't get in with the orthopedist until next week! They don't think it's broken though so that's good. I think July 4th is my favorite holiday next to Christmas~God Bless America!
