Friends

Here are some pictures of friends. The first is of Kristin and Pete whom we met out here. We ate at Chili's with them on Friday and showed them our mess of a new house. They just bought a house in our neighborhood so we are really excited to be near by. Pete is from England so we have fun learning his "lingo" and Jeff likes mocking his accent. They have a black lab named Zoe that needs a playmate so Molly might have an additional place to run around once we get her out here. (Their yard is a lot bigger than ours too because it's on a corner lot.)

The second picture is from a little going away dinner we had at Venice Cafe with our St. Louis friends Emily and Ryan before we left. We're sad that they are so far away now! :(

Moving into our new home!

Hello all. We are in the new house! We've had possession for 1 week now and I feel like there is still so much to do, which there is. The delivery truck arrived Tuesday after over a week on the road. Since then I've unpacked the kitchen and master bedroom myself while Jeff's at work. I am POOPED! I tried to take some pictures of the move, but my camera is dying and you'll see that some of the pictures are a little funky. I tried taking pics of the empty rooms so that I can show you my design expertise with before and after photos...those will be posted once I've completed the room. Right now we only have internet in our master closet, so that's where I am typing this. I've set up office in our TINY closet...sad. We found out the other day that our friends Pete and Kristin (Pete works with Jeff) have bought a house in our neighborhood, an older part of it, so that will be exciting having some neighbor friends that we can walk over and bombard. :) Enjoy the pictures and I'll try to send more once we get a new camera and take them! Enjoy. ~Kassi

This is our LOVELY kitchen before it was filled to the ceiling with boxes. Our fridge was delivered yesterday and it's pretty. It's located on the left wall, but not shown in this picture.

This is our family room and new sectional! We wanted a big one, and I think this will fit both families! I am still trying to decide if it's too bulky, but Jeff loves it. I am hoping that once I decorate it won't look so massive!

Okay, here's an example of my screwed up camera. This is our new bedroom furniture and I am so excited about getting a king bed. The parents get to sleep on our queen from now on! The mattress should be delivered today, so hopefully we will be sleeping in our own room soon.

Our master bath...very open as you can see. Jeff and I are still getting use to the feeling of being EXPOSED! Luckily I found some curtains I had packed away to put up until I decide what to do with that window. (We sealed all of the grout in the house on Sunday. Way easier than I thought it would be.)

Our fence before the weekend project of staining it!

Afterwards...awww much better!

See our narrow side yard. It's like this on both sides. We thought it would make a good dog run. It's so windy here in Fairfield that Jeff and I ended up with the sticky stain all over us and the house...it was a mess. Also, Jeff and I don't do team projects well so you can imagine the experience we had!

The big 'ol truck. The ramp that's shown is only part way back!

Yeah, my car is finally here!

This is the inside of the moving truck. Mitch the driver told me he keeps his truck very clean, as you can see, and he mops the wood floors everyday. Most all of our stuff is stacked in the back. Just imagine how big this thing is...my car was even on there.

This site had me about rolling over laughing. Thia van pulls up and some crazy song plays over speakers or the horn and all construction works drop what they are doing to line up for food. They grill burgers and anything else you could imagine. This was after the line had died down. Notice the Chinese guy with the cone hat like he's working in the rice field?

Lots of boxes everywhere! I hate moving.

Just a few of the many boxes I unpacked on Wednesday...all from the kitchen. This is our little patio leading to the front door and off of the kitchen. Isn't it cute?

This is Curtis a.k.a. Mitch the truck driver. He lives in Georgia and moves people all over the county everyday. He's been married over 20 years and has been moving for Graebel the whole time. He's lucky if he gets to stay at home and see his wife 1 night out of the month. SAD! He was a sweet guy and after I asked to have my picture with him he gave me a hug. I liked his little hat.

We got our house!

Hi Everyone! As of late Friday afternoon, Jeff and I were handed the keys to our new home! I was so excited to take updated pictures to post, but our camera is on the fritz! So for now I will have to give you all a visual description of what we've been up to. So, since Friday we have painted all bedrooms and baths, stained the fence, and sealed the grout! It all looks great and I wish I could take pictures, but I think we'll need to buy a new camera. Today I am meeting the phone/cable/internet folks at the house from 8-noon, and then 5-8 is when our sectional and new dining set for the nook will arrive. Tomorrow morning around 8:00 the semi truck will arrive with all of our household goods and Kassi's car. Woo-hoo!!

We'll talk soon, gotta run!

On the Move!

Hello Friends & Family!

Here is an update since I haven't posted anything recently. Last week I (Kassi) flew to St. Louis BY MYSELF while Jeff stayed here and worked. Thankfully my family met me there to help out with getting everything we own on the moving trucks! Let me tell you...there was a lot of "CRAP"! I wish I would have taken pictures now because it was a scene. I had the opportunity to see a few friends while I was there, but the week flew by SO fast that I didn't have time to see everyone and I wish I would have. :( Below is a picture of myself with 3 week old little David; Tiffany's baby. He was so sweet and slept in my arms for the entire visit.

Today at noon we have a walk through at our new home and if everything goes well then we are on our way to moving in, and we are so excited! I am sure you'll see pictures of the completed home soon.

Take Care!

Darn Wind!

Okay I have one thing to say about Fairfield, California...take a look at this picture and you'll see what I mean. Can you tell it's windy here? It's impossible to take a decent picture outdoors with this wind! Here we are located outside our "corporate apartment" on our way to a BBQ hosted by Jeff's boss.
