On Sunday, we spent the day in San Fran with Rob Brown an AB guy that moved out here with us. We enjoyed ourselves, however, we're glad we don't live there! When we left Fairfield it was sunny and probably 80 degrees and after driving an hour towards the bay the temps dropped to 59 and hazy...very depressing. Come visit us and we'll take you there. :) Enjoy.
Yesterday evening Jeff played golf at Rancho Solano, a beautiful public golf course, which is very well maintained. Everything about it seems like a country club. The picture of the scenery is typical of this area. Don't hit your ball outside the fairway here.....it's rattlesnake infested and maybe a few jack rabbits! There are large hills everywhere and the grass is dead and won't turn green until fall or winter when the rain starts again. All summer long the forecast is the same....SUNNY! All that changes is the temperature. Some days it's 111, some days it's 75 or 80. As you can see Kassi was freezing while playing golf, she only took Jeff's jacket off for the picture. The wind here never stops, and it's a cool breeze. They say when we move to our house, which is closer to Vacaville the temperatures will be a little warmer and the wind won't be so bad. (The temp usually varies 20 degrees from Fairfield to Vacaville and the towns are only 10 miles away. They basically touch.)
Hi Friends and Family! After several "requests" we have decided to start a blog so we can keep all of you informed on California life. For those of you that don't know...sorry if we've left you out of the loop... A-B transferred us to Fairfield (smack dab between San Francisco & Sacramento). We have begun our 4th week here and are currently living in corporate housing until our new home is completed...we can't wait! We hope that after seeing some of the pictures we have posted you'll be more inclined to come visit! Once we get moved we'll send out cards informing you of our new address.
Our house is the second from the left. The fireplace-it will have a dark cherry mantel. Our back yard, we get to landscape it ourselves. Eeek! :-/
